Back for his sophomore campaign after authoring arguably the biggest surprise of the 2017 season…finished freshman year by placing fourth at the ACC Championships, 18th at the NCAA East Preliminary and fifth at the USATF Junior Championships in the 400-meter dash…arrived at FSU with only two years of track experience but closed ’17 campaign as its No. 1 400-meter runner, main cog on the 4×400 relay and a threat to become an NCAA Championships qualifier.
Indoor – Competing indoors for the first time, saw action in five meets…first breakout came at the Tyson Invitational when he ran 47.93 in the 400…backed that up by running 48.00 at the ACC Championships, where he lent a monster leg to the Noles’ fourth-place 4×400 relay in a season-best 3:11.31. Outdoor – Competed in eight meets culminating with the ACC Championships, NCAA East Preliminary and USATF Junior Championships…demonstrated steady progress through the first five meets while competing in both the 400 and 4×400…breakthrough in both came at the Tom Jones Memorial, when he broke the 47-second barrier with a personal-best 46.79, then helped the 4×400 to a strong 3:07.91 effort…advanced to the 400 finals at the ACC Championships where he lowered his PB to 46.58 and finished fourth, earning second-team All-ACC honors…fifth-place 4×400 finish in 3:07.69 was also a season-best…advanced to the second round of the 400 at the NCAA East Preliminary, finishing 18th…finished one spot shy of NCAA Championships qualifying in the 4×400, placing 13th in SB 3:07.05.
Didn’t begin running 400 in earnest until his senior season at East Lake High…won the Pinellas County Athletic Conference and 3A District 10 titles…ran 48.35 for fourth at 3A Region 3 meet and followed with new PBs of 47.99 at Golden South (fourth) and 47.96 (10th) at New Balance Outdoor Nationals…played three seasons of varsity football…son of Natasha Vigo…plans to major in computer science…born August 18, 1998.
