PERFORMANCE PROFILE

Competed in six cross country meets as a redshirt freshman, including the ACC Championships…sat out the entire 2015-16 year as a redshirt…spent 2016 summer training at altitude in Ecuador while serving underpriviledged communities.

2016 Cross Country:

Capitalized on redshirt freshman opportunity to compete in six meets and finished among FSU’s top seven three times…was in the lineup at the ACC Championships, where he was seventh on team and 79th overall (25:05.4, 8k), earning alternate spot at NCAA South Region…was No. 2 runner for Noles at Crimson Classic…began season finishing 26th overall at Covered Bridge Open, placing fifth among Noles…gained valuable big-race experience at adidas XC Challenge and Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational.

2015-16

Cross Country:Sat out the season as a redshirt, but flashed future promise with an 11th-place finish while competing unattached at the FSU Invitational in his first career 8k race (25:55.8). Indoor & Outdoor: sat out both seasons as a redshirt.

Before FSU:

Enjoyed outstanding high school senior season…placed eighth at the 3A FHSAA State Cross Country Championships, leading Chiles to the team title…followed up with a fourth-place finish in the 3200 at the 3A FHSAA State Track & Field Championships as the Timberwolves won their second consecutive title…ranks No. 2 all-time at Chiles in the 3200 (9:23.87), set at the 2015 FSU Relays…competed three cross country and four track & field seasons.

Personal:

An outstanding student-athlete…graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tallahassee’s Chiles High…voted areas Best & Brightest for Athletics…was instrumental in delivering Chiles High the 2014 3A state cross country title as well as back-to-back track & field state crowns…earned All-State honors in both cross country and track as a senior…AP (Advanced Placement) Scholar with Distinction…earned his Eagle Scout…served as Boys State Chief Justice of the Supreme Court…the son of Tony and Renee Murray…intends to major in biochemistry…born October 21, 1996.
