Was preseason ranked No. 91 in singles by the ITA…had a 4-4 singles record during the fall season…defeated South Florida’s Olaya Garrido (3-6, 7-5, 7-5) in the round of 16 at the Bedford Cup in Jacksonville…won her opening match in the last three tournaments she’s played…overcame Oklahoma’s Lily Miyazaki and Oklahoma State’s Karyn Guttormsen to reach the quarterfinals in the USTA Collegiate Clay Court Invitational presented by VISIT FLORIDA at Disney’s Wide World of Sports complex…was preseason ranked No. 9 in doubles by the ITA with partner Daneika Borthwick…participated and reached the semifinals in the doubles draw, and second round of the singles draw at the 2014 Central America and Caribbean Games in Veracruz, Mexico representing her home country of the Bahamas.
Earned Second Team All-ACC honors as she became the leader for the Seminoles in 2014…was ranked as high as No. 117 in singles and closed out the season ranked No. 124…tied Daneika Borthwick for the team lead in wins for both singles (15) and doubles (14)…earned four ranked wins over singles opponents, including an impressive straight-set win over No. 54 Kelsey Laurente of Miami by a score of 6-4, 7-6 (3)…paired up with Borthwick for most of the doubles season and the team became one of the best duos in the country advancing to the NCAA Doubles Championships…amassed a streak of nine doubles wins in a row from March 17 to May 9 with victories over Clemson’s No. 26 Yana Koroleva/Beatrice Gumulya (8-5) and Virginia’s No. 11 Julia Elbaba/Rachel Pierson (8-6)…Cartwright and Borthwick were ranked as high as No. 30 in the ITA before ending the season at No. 32.
Had an impressive fall season with an 8-3 record in singles along with a 2-5 record in doubles…posted a 2-0 record over ranked opponents with victories over No. 77 Katerina Popova from South Carolina and No. 123 Michaela Bezdickova from New Mexico…fought hard at the USTA Clay Court Invitational at Disney with two three-set victories in the consolation bracket…paired up with Daneika Borthwick in doubles during the fall, and while only posting a 2-5 record, four of the losses were with an 8-6 score.
Joined the team in January of 2013…posted a record of 13-6 in singles and 12-7 in doubles…worked mostly from court five in singles where she played a record of 10-5…defeated one ranked opponent during the season in No. 104 Clementina Riobueno (Miami) 6-4, 6-2…paired well with Kristina Schleich in doubles and posted a record of 4-2 for the year…was the clinching match for the doubles point against No.11 Clemson in the ACC Quarterfinals where the Seminoles went on to defeat the Tigers 4-3.
Lost two singles matches all season as she led the Apache to their third-straight NJCAA championship…was crowned the champion in flight 1 at the NJCAA in both singles and doubles…has competed in the Fed Cup while representing the Bahamas during 2008-2011 where she’s posted a 7-5 record in singles with six of those matches being played in the main draw.
Born April 11, 1992…daughter of Kim and Sean Cartwright…father played tennis at New Mexico State while her mother played at FIU…aspires to be a professional tennis player…spent her freshman year at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Tx…has been coached by Dash Connell.
