ACC Top Six for Service

Margo Zwerling- Women’s Track & Field

Margo Zwerling was awarded the ACC Top Six for Service award not only because of the total number of hours she served; but because whenever there was a need for volunteers, Margo was always the first to volunteer.  She regularly spends time at a local elementary school and has volunteered with the Special Olympics, Dance Marathon and United way. Margo also encourages her teammates to volunteer as well.

Ashley Stager- Women’s Softball

Ashley Stager was awarded the ACC Top Six for Service award not only because she completed the most number of community service hours but also because of her commitment to mentoring young girls at a local school.  Not only does she spend time as a volunteer coach but she also has volunteered with Walk for Paws, the Special Olympics, and helped collect donations for the Haiti Relief Fund.  Ashley is also an active member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council.

Jessie Carr- Women’s Swimming & Diving 

Jessie Carr was awarded the ACC Top Six for Service award not only because she completed the most number of community service hours, but because of her dedication of wanting to give back to the community.  She spent countless hours volunteering with a local preschool, the Dick Howser Center, Relay for Life, collecting canned good during the Thanksgiving Holiday season and helping raise funds for the Haiti Relief Fund.  Jessie is also the acting Secretary for the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) and has volunteered on sub-committee’s to help coordinate different events and activities hosted by SAAC.

James Ramsey- Men’s Baseball

James Ramsey was awarded the ACC Top Six for Service award not only because of the number of hours he served but also because of his dedication and determination to get his team more involved with community service.  With close to 200 hours served and counting, James has helped his team achieve the goal of volunteering the most community service hours in program history. James is also an active member on the Student-Athlete Advisory Council and has helped raise funds for the Dick Howser Center and at the Let Us Play Dinner and Auction.  

Christian Ponder- Football

Christian Ponder was awarded the ACC Top Six for Service award not only because of the hours he served but also because of his commitment to give back to the community. Christian was part of the Tobacco Free Florida campaign to encourage Florida residents to quit smoking, he volunteered with Meals on Wheels through the United Way, helped raise funds for the Haiti Relief Fund and spoke to elementary students about the importance of reading.  He has also participated with Dance Marathon to help raise funds for children/patients of Shands Hospital and volunteered with the Leon County Schools Foundation to help create community awareness concerning Type 2 Diabetes among youth.

Charles Janson- Men’s Track & Field 

Charles Janson was awarded the ACC Top Six for Service not only for his service hours but also because of his kindheartedness and generosity. Charles was always dependable and reliable, and would always be the first to volunteer when no one else would.  He has supported his fellow student-athletes by attending Gold Letter Games to cheer them on and by volunteering to help staff home competitions. Charles has volunteered with Relay for Life and Dance Marathon. He  has also helped raise funds to endow women scholarships at Florida State University and has participated in the United Way’s Extreme Agency Make-over.
