TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State rightfielder Matt Diaz garnered Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Player of the Week honors after leading the Seminoles to a three-game sweep of Troy State last weekend.

Diaz, a sophomore from Lakeland, Fla., batted .700 (7-for-10) with eight RBI and eight runs scored. He also collected five extra-base hits — three doubles, a triple and his second home run of the season — in the series.

Florida State earned a No. 1 ranking from Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball and Baseball Weekly/ESPN’s Top 25 polls this week. The last time the Seminoles were a consensus No. 1 by the three polls was for two weeks (Feb. 17th and Feb. 24th) in 1997.

The Seminoles host Charleston Southern for two games starting tomorrow, Feb. 16th at 3:30 p.m. The second game is scheduled for Feb. 17th at 3:30 p.m.
