The Florida State men’s basketball team but the finishing touches on their 2013 recruiting class when the nation’s top-ranked prospect Andrew Wiggins signed with the Seminoles on Tuesday.  Check out bios and highlights of the three newest Florida State Seminoles.

Xavier Rathan-Mayes
SG | 6-3 | 180 | Scarborough, Ontario | Huntington Prep HS

Averaged 14.6 points, 4.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game his first year at Huntington Prep and averaged 13.7 points, 6.7 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game during his final year at Huntington Prep… played in 31 games, 19 of which he scored in double digits, six double-double games and one triple-double during his senior season…best performance of the season came when he scored a game high of 55 points and added nine assists, 10 rebounds and five steals to close out a win in his final game versus Teays Valley Christian (WV)… at 6’4”, 210, the four star prospect combo guard who is one of the top wings in the country helped lead his team to a 30-3 record along with teammate and Naismith/Gatorade National Player of the Year power forward Andrew Wiggins….ranked as the no. 28 overall prospect by Rivals.com and ranked no. 40 by ESPN …the no. 8 Rivals.com ranked shooting guard was a member of the FIBA U18 Americas Jr. Championship Team and the Canadian 18U national team, participated in the Nike Global Challenge (2011 & 2012) and played for the CIA Bounce 17s AAU Team… chose the Seminoles over Illinois and Connectucut.

A top 100 prospect according to 247sports.com… Averaged 16.3 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 7.5 blocks per game during his senior season…scored 20 points or more in 8 games which includes a 40 point game in the season opener against Putnam County…played in 29 games, nine of which he had triple doubles and 11 double-doubles his senior year  …the 6’9”, 225-pound forward helped led Jones County to the state playoffs for the first time in 12 years…Smith was named Georgia Basketball  co-boys’ player of the year in Region 2-AAAAA and was named to the first team all-state by Atlanta Journal Constitution…was also named to the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association all-star roster  and played for the Atlanta Stars and Team Force AAU Team.…chose the Seminoles over Alabama, Georgia and Georgia Tech

The consensus top ranked player in the country…named 2013 Gatorade National Player of the Year… named the 2013 James Naismith National Player of the Year… a 2013 McDonald’s All-American scoring an East team high 19 points while dishing out 4 assists…earned Jordan Brand All-American honors scoring 19 points for the East squad… represented the World Team at the the Nike Hoop Summit scoring 17 points in a 112-98 victory… averaged 23.4 points and 11.2 rebounds a game during his senior year at Huntigtin Prep… both is father Mitchell Wiggins and mother Marita Payne-Wiggins attended Florida State… Mitchell was a FSU Hall of Fame basektball player for the Seminoles while Marita was a Hall of Fame track and field athlete who also competed in the 1984 Olympics for Canada… chose the Seminoles over Kansas, Kentucky and North Carolina.
