Deas Returns To FSU Men’s Basketball Team

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida State sophomore guard Devonaire Deas has
regained his basketball eligibility following the completion of the fall
semester and has been reinstated to the team.

“We are glad that Devonaire has been able to get his academics in order
and are happy to have him back with us,” said Florida State head coach
Steve Robinson. “Now we need to try to get him ready for the remainder of
the season as quickly as possible.”

Deas was ruled academically ineligible for the fall semester at the
conclusion of last spring’s term. The Albany, NY native appeared in 30
games and started three as a freshman last year. He averaged 2.5 points and
2.1 assists in 10.6 minutes per game.

Deas will travel with the 15th ranked Seminoles (6-1) to Orlando on
Saturday as they prepare for Sunday’s meeting with Florida in the Milk
Challenge in the Orlando Arena. Tipoff for the game is 4:00 p.m. and the
contest will be broadcast live on Sunshine Network.
