Felton Transfers Into Florida State Basketball Program

TALLAHASSEE, FL — James Felton, a 6-10, 230-pound post player from
Bayonne, NJ and St. John’s University, has transferred into the Florida
State basketball program.

“I am excited that James has decided to enroll at Florida State,” said
Seminole head coach Steve Robinson. “It is great that he will be able to
practice with us and be able to work in our system. We are happy to welcome
him into the Seminole family.”

Felton will be eligible to practice with the Seminoles during the spring.
He will not be able to compete in games until the conclusion of the 1998
fall semester.

The Marist High School graduate enrolled at St. John’s last fall and
appeared in six games this season for the Red Storm. He averaged 2.2
points and 3.3 rebounds in 14.2 minutes per game.

While at Marist, Felton was regarded as one of the nation’s top 50 prep
players. He averaged 15.5 points, 9.4 rebounds and 3.4 blocked shots per
game as a senior last season.
