Florida State Basketball to Open Practice on Saturday

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida State men’s basketball team will hold its
first practice of the season on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Moore
Athletic Center Gym.

“I am really excited about getting started,” said first year Florida
State head coach Steve Robinson. “I think our guys have shown a real
willingness to work hard during preseason conditioning and I believe it
will carry over onto the court.”

Robinson assumed control of the FSU program on July 1 after former
Seminole head coach Pat Kennedy left for DePaul in June. Robinson was the
head coach at Tulsa for the previous two seasons and guided the Golden
Hurricane to a 46-18 record and two NCAA Tournament berths during his

Saturday’s first practice is open to the public. The Seminoles will hold
the annual Garnet and Gold Game on October 29 in the Leon County Civic
Center. FSU opens the regular season on November 14 at Rice.
