Florida State begins the 2001 season with several records on the line, but perhaps the most impressive are the string of consecutive 10-win seasons and the Associated Press Top Five finishes. FSU is the only program in college football history that has finished among the Top Five in the AP poll for 14 consecutive years. In fact, the next longest streak was Miami’s seven-year run among the Top Four from 1986-1992. Other than FSU, no team in last year’s AP Top Five was ranked among the Top Five in 2000. The Seminoles also own an NCAA record with 10 or more wins in 14 straight seasons. These achievements have made Florida State the most successful program over the last decade.
