TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The No. 6 Florida State Seminoles (6-1) began
preparation for Saturday night’s ACC showdown at No. 19 Georgia Tech (5-1)
this evening at Ed Williamson practice fields. FSU practiced for an hour
this evening after reviewing film this afternoon.

“Georgia Tech is on a roll,” said head coach Bobby Bowden. “They have
scored over 40 in their last five games and their defense has scored in
each of those games. They are the only undefeated team in the conference
right now. We are in the situation right now where if we lose another
conference game, we’re out.”

Georgia Tech is led by quarterback Joe Hamilton who ranks first in the
ACC and eighth in the nation in passing efficiency. His main target is
wide receiver Dez White, who is averaging 129.2 yards per game.

“Hamilton is playing as good as any quarterback in the country,” said
Bowden. “He has really developed and is much better than he was a year
ago, much like Jamie Barnette (NC State). He is the key to their offense.”

Hamilton and the Yellow Jackets will face a Seminole defense that ranks
first in the country in total defense, giving up only 214 yards a game.

Tailback Travis Minor, who continues to rehab an injured ankle ran with
the first team offense in today’s workout.

“Minor was running better today,” said Bowden. “We will still have to
find out the extent of what he can do as the week progresses.”

No new injuries were reported after the workout.
