Seminoles Fine Tune Game Plan
Gridiron drills focus on fundamentals.
December 18, 1998
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida State
Seminoles held an afternoon practice in shells as they continued
preparation for their January 4th matchup with Tennesse in the Fiesta
Bowl. The team spent the day on fundamental drills and practice against
Tennessee scout teams.
“I missed about half of practice because I was in
Daytona Beach speaking at the Florida High School Coaches Clinic,”
commented head coach Bobby Bowden. “The last part that I saw was okay,
“We’ll start off slow (when we come back from the holidays),”
said Bowden. “We’ve got 10 days so we can ease into it. It will be just
like the week before a game. We’ll go hard at least one day.”
“(Bowl practice has been) comparable to other years,” said Bowden. “The team
stayed focused. I didn’t see a lot of playing around. They were paying
attention and they knew more at the end of the week.”
“We worked on everything we’re going to do, but we’ll nail it (the game plan) down
when we get back,” said Bowden.
