Noles Practice in Full Pads for 18 Periods

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 2-ranked Florida State Seminoles practiced in
full pads for 18 periods on Sunday afternoon in preparation for the
showdown with the No.1-ranked Tennessee Volunteers on January 4th in the
Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. The Seminoles worked on special teams at the
beginning of practice before finishing up with 11-on-11 limited contact

“It was much like a Tuesday practice during the season,” commented head
coach Bobby Bowden. “We are easing them into it and doing a little bit of

Senior linebacker Lamont Green was knocked out by freshman lineman
Montrae Holland in skeleton drills. His status will be reevaluated

“Lamont got knock out cold,” said Bowden. “He never saw it coming. He
will probably be out for a couple of days.”

Junior Ron Dugans participated in workouts, but was limited to no
contact. He suffered a separated shoulder before the Christmas break, but
is expected to full strength for the game. Sophomore Roland Seymour is
also seeing action with the first-team defense. Seymour suffered a MCL
sprain in the Wake Forest game on November 14th.

The Seminoles will conclude their practice in Tallahassee Monday morning
before traveling to Tempe, AZ in the afternoon.
