FSU’s 29-game ACC winning streak since joining the conference in ’92 was snapped the last time the Seminoles played Virginia in Charlottesville by a score of 33-28…tailback Warrick Dunn was stopped inches short of the goal line as time expired on a Thursday night ESPN contest…Virginia is the only team to beat FSU in conference play…Florida State leads the all-time series 4-1…the Seminoles defeated UVa in a homecoming game last year, 31-24…the All-ACC backfield of Warrick Dunn and Tiki Barber each rushed for over 100 yards, combining for 281 yards on the day…the Cavs have held a halftime lead in the last two match-ups…FSU has gained at least 500 yards of total offense in each of the past four meetings…UVa’s roster features 10 players from the state of Florida…both teams lost their starting placekicker and punter to graduation (FSU – Bentley & Liss, UVa -Garcia & Brice)…each ranked in the top three of their respective categories in the ’96 ACC standings…Virginia was one of six ranked teams that Florida State played last year…QB Thad Busby had a career day with 316 yards on 25-of-36 passing in last year’s FSU victory in Tallahassee.
