Seminole Recruits Report to Campus

TALLAHASSEE, Fl. — Flordia State’s consensus #1 ranked recruiting class reported to Tallahassee on Friday. The class, which features the USA Today Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year in Travis Minor (RB) and David Warren (DE), is considered one of the best ever accumulated in one signing period.

“They look every bit as good as they did when we were looking at them in high school,” said head coach Bobby Bowden. “It’s always exciting to finally get these guys here and get them in the program. Tomorrow we’ll test them to see if they’re press clippings were up to snuff.”

The Seminoles welcomed 14 true freshmen on Friday. Five key players that helped boost the class to the nation’s best enrolled at FSU last January and participated in spring drills. Those five freshmen must wait for the varsity to report on Tuesday to begin working out again with the Seminoles. The early enrollees include: quarterback Chris Weinke, defensive end Tony Bryant, tight end Carver Donaldson, safety Jeff Chaney and punter Keith Cottrell.
