Florida State Preps for Sugar Bowl

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – No. 4 Florida State practiced for 18 periods in full
pads outdoors in preparation for the New Year’s Day match up with No. 10
Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl.

“We mixed it up a little bit,” said Offensive Coordinator Mark Richt.
“It was a lot of first and ten, second and five and goaline situations.”

After practicing for 15 periods in segments, the team broke off into an
11-on-11 scrimmage for the remaining three periods. The defense held the
offense to just two scores in six tries during the goaline drills.

Coach Bobby Bowden was not in attendance for practice, as he was in New
Orleans speaking at luncheon with Buckeye head coach John Cooper.

No new injuries were reported following today’s practice.
