FSU Continues to Prepare for Sugar Bowl

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The No. 4 Florida State Seminoles continued
preparation for their matchup with No. 10 Ohio State in the Nokia Sugar
Bowl on January 1st with a midday practice.

The team practiced for 18 periods in full pads after 20 minutes of
special teams work on punt team and punt block. The team scrimmaged
11-on-11 for 15 minutes at the end of practice.

“These boys seem to be geared up for Ohio State,” said head coach Bobby
Bowden. “If we were playing someone we were highly favored over, you may
be in for it.”

“This team’s still got a lot to play for and a lot to prove,” commented
Bowden. “The seniors can finish their careers in an excellent way if they
win this ball game.”

“Ohio State has got good players. John (Cooper) has recruited well.
They’re more physical than anyone we’ve played. It’s more strength and
power versus speed and finesse.”
