FSU Gets Its Kicks In Following Scrimmage

TALLAHASSEE, FL — The No. 3 Florida State Seminoles held a kicking
practice today after last night’s final preseason scrimmage.

The session lasted 30 minutes and included punting, punt block and
kickoffs. The squad participated in conditioning to conclude the practice.
The team watched film on last night’s scrimmage in meetings following the

“I like the effort of the players and I like the talent level,” commented
head coach Bobby Bowden about yesterday’s scrimmage. “But we’re not
allowing the talent to take over because of mistakes. We can’t coach
experience, you get it. They learn every game.”

“We’re not blocking good enough yet, and our backs are not showing the
vision they’ve got to have,” commented Bowden on the running game.

There were no new injuries. The Seminoles will not practice on Sunday.
