Football Prepares for Clemson

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — No. 5 Florida State continued preparation for No. 16
Clemson with a 20-period practice in shorts and shoulder pads.

The team worked on kickoffs and kickoff returns before practice and used
the middle portion of the workout for 11-on-11 scrimmaging. Most of the
session was spent in skeletons against the scout team.

Samari Rolle stood out for the second straight day in the 11-on-11
scrimmage segment of practice. He had three interceptions during the
scrimmage.

“Samari Rolle had a great day today,” said head coach Bobby Bowden. “It
was as good of a day as anybody has had since Deion Sanders. He had three
interceptions and two were out of this world.”

“He’s doing what I thought he would do his sophomore year,” continued
Bowden. I’ve never seen him as sharp as he was today.”

Saturday’s game at Clemson is scheduled to kick-off at 3:30 p.m. on ABC.

“The defense will be tested more this week, because Clemson’s got such
good speed,” said Bowden.

INJURY REPORT: WR Ron Dugans sprained his left thumb and is day-to-day.
LB Daryl Bush (right ankle sprain) practiced, but was held out of contact.
DT Larry Smith, who suffered a left knee sprain yesterday, practiced today.
Center Kevin Long was back to practice after missing yesterday with the
flu.
