Seminole Football Wednesday Practice Report

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — No. 3 Florida State practiced for 20 periods in shoulder
pads and sweats this afternoon in preparation for Saturday’s game against
ACC foe North Carolina State.

“We had a pretty good practice today,” said head coach Bobby Bowden. “It
looked like they knew what they were doing much better today.”

The squad began practice with kicking, punt return and punt block before
individual drills. The team had an 11-on-11 scrimmage in the middle of the
session and then practiced team skeleton drills against the scout team.

“Every day I go over something about NC State,” commented Bowden. “They
have a runner that’s gone over 100 yards against us the last two years.
They have a kick off returner that ran one back last year. I’m alerting our
guys to the things that we’re going to see. Wake Forest fumbled seven
times against NC State. Those are the things that cause upsets.”

“NC State can break stuff out of there,” said Bowden. “You have to stay
on your toes the whole time. They can put some points on the board.”

INJURY REPORT: Corey Simon (left knee inflammation); Ross Brannon (right
ankle), Jeremy Brett (left knee), Tay Cody (right elbow) were held out of
contact; Khalid Abdullah, Tres Walton, Abdual Howard were held out with the
flu.
