Florida State’s Daryl Bush Repeats As Academic All-American

WINTER PARK, Fla — Florida State senior middle linebacker Daryl Bush was honored for the second consecutive season as a first team selection to
the GTE Academic All-American Team. Bush, an Altamonte Springs, FL native,
was the lone selection from a team located in the state of Florida.

A graduate student in Athletic Administration, Bush was also the
recipient of this year’s $18,000 National Football Foundation Scholar
Athlete Award and was named to this season’s All-ACC second team.

As a semifinalist for the Butkus award the past three seasons, Bush has
received All-ACC recognition every year since the 1994 season when he
became a full-time starter as a redshirt freshman. Following the 1996
season, he received the Jim Tatum (ACC) and CFA Scholar Athlete awards,
while earning his third Golden Torch Award as the top scholar-athlete on
the football squad. Bush completed his undergraduate degree in Business
with a 3.9 GPA during the summer.
