AUBURN, AL — The Florida State men’s and women’s swim teams completed
competition in the Auburn Invitational in third and fourth place,
respectively. The final team point standings were 499 points for the men
and 325 points for the women.
The third day of men’s competition was highlighted by Junior Stephen
Parry’s first place finish in the 200 Fly with a time of 1:45.83, which
qualified him for NCAA’s. Parry also accomplished a fourth place finish in
the 200 Back event with a time of 1:48.65. Juniors Brendon Dedekind and
Julio Santos finished in third and fourth place in the 100 Free with times
of 45.31 and 45.56 respectively. Freshman Keam Ang swam to a third place
finish in the 200 Fly with a time of 1:50.98. Both the 200 Medley Relay
and 400 Free Relay teams accomplished second place finishes in the meet.
For the Lady Seminoles, the highest women’s individual place was by
Junior Sherri Fowler who finished in fifth place (2:06.01) in the 200 Fly.
Junior Kristie McRoberts finished in sixth place (17:31.14) in the 1650
Free event. In the relay events, the women’s teams swam to a third place
finish in the 400 Free event and a fourth place finish in the 200 Medley
Auburn Univeristy finished in first place in men’s team competition,
while Clemson University took first place in the women’s team competition.
