Niks and Ingham Join Braswell in Qualifying Tournament

BALTIMORE, Md. – Florida State men’s tennis players Yvo Niks and
Michael Ingham advanced far enough into the ITA National Claycourt
pre-qualifying tournament at the Suburban Club to join fellow Seminole Ty
Braswell in the next leg of the event, the qualifying tournament.

The final eight players in the 64-player draw will advance to the main draw
where an eventual champion is determined. Braswell and Niks will also compete
as a doubles tandem in a 32-pair tournament.

Niks, a junior from Holland, advanced to the fifth round of the earlier
tournament and Ingham, a sophomore from England, made it the fourth round.

Niks will face eighth-seeded and 90th ranked Aaron Marchetti of Virginia
Tech and Ingham will meet up with Luis Uribe of Kansas. No. 81 Braswell, a
junior from Umatilla, will face Andreas Tiltscher of Southern Mississippi in the
opening round. The tandem of Braswell and Niks, the 1997 flight 2 ACC
Champions, will meet South Alabama’s Chisholm and Piibor.
