FSU Hosts Seminole Cross Country Invitational


Tallahassee, FL — The Florida State men’s cross country team finished
second (seven teams) while the women placed third (seven teams) while the women placed third (nine teams) in the
Seminole Invitational at Seminole Golf Course. Alabama won on the men’s
side while LSU took the women’s team title.



Aaron Scheer finished sixth overall with a time of 25:44 to lead the FSU
men on the 8K course. Running second (12th overall) was Brad Shriver at
26:21. Michael Maier (17th – 26:42), David Ogletree (20th – 26:51) and
Josh Ware (35th – 27:37) completed the Seminole scoring.



Freshman Cynthia Campbell set the pace for the Lady Seminoles with a
sixth place finish and time of 19:04 in the women’s 5K. Nicole Singleton
was ninth overall in a time of 19:19. Diana Hartnup ran third (16th
overall) at 19:37 while Mary Gaskins (23rd – 20:01) and Kathy Bowen (35th –
20:48) crossed the finish line fourth and fifth for the FSU women.



Charlotte Mayock of LSU won the women’s individual title with a time of
18:10 and Alabama’s Tim Broe took the win for the men in 25:00.
