TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida State women’s basketball player Brooke Wyckoff
earned Atlantic Coast Conference’ Top Rookie honors this past week after
leading the Seminoles to a 2-1 start in 1997. She averaged 12.7 points and
10 rebounds and shot .538 percent from the field during the three-game
The forward from West Chester, Ohio, recorded a double-double in her
first collegiate game with a 17-point, 15-rebound effort in Florida State’s
79-70 victory over Florida A&M last Saturday. She added three blocked
shots and two steals in the win.
In Friday’s 73-64 loss at No. 9 ranked Florida in the Dial Soap/Florida 4
Challenge, Wyckoff helped lead the Seminoles with 12 points, six rebounds,
four steals and three assists. She came back to contribute nine points and
nine rebounds in FSU’s 71-59 win over South Florida on Saturday. She also
added two assists, two steals and one blocked shot.
