GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Florida State women’s soccer team (3-7) were dealt yet another set back when UNC-Greensboro All-American Ali Lord scored on a header with just 1:35 remaining to give the Spartans the 3-2 come-from-behind win and FSU’s fifth straight loss.
After UNC-G’s Kati Kantanen netted the first goal in the ninth minute, FSU’s Alex Osorio stole the ball from UNC-G goalkeeper Paula Domitrovits directly in front of the net and scored her first goal of the season easily in the 16th minute to tie up the match.
FSU’s April Murphy than put the Seminoles up by one in the 40th minute when she took a Taryn Cervi pass and put it pass the Spartan goalkeeper.
Kantanen then scored again to tie up the score at two-apiece at the 56:55 mark, assisted by Danica Baker.
UNC-G’s Lord took a short pass from Katie Bullington and headed the ball past Seminole goalkeeper Melissa Juhl at the 88:25 mark for the game-winner and her 11th goal of the season. Kantanen made the intial pass to Bullingtoon and was also credited with an assist.
FSU travels to Elon College on Sunday.
