Volleyball Defeats N.C. State
Seminoles improve to 12-6.

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Florida State volleyball team rebounded from a
four-set loss (15-6, 7-15, 11-15, 8-15) to North Carolina on Friday to take
a three-game (15-6, 15-13, 15-13) win over North Carolina State this
evening in Atlantic Coast Conference action. With tonight’s victory, FSU
improves to 12-6 overall and 3-3 in the ACC.
FSU junior middle hitter Aisha Thornton led the way with 19 kills for the
Lady Seminoles while sophomore outside hitter Jennifer Werrick and senior
middle hitter Susan Hawks added 14 kills apiece.
Florida State’s next competition will be a nonconference battle with
cross-town rival Florida A&M on Monday at 7 p.m. in Tully Gymnasium.
“We’re obviously pleased to be able to bounce back from Friday’s disappoin
ting loss and win decisively over NC State,” FSU Head Coach Dr. Cecile
Reynaud said. “We are looking forward to getting back to Tully Gym for
three matches this week, beginning with FAMU on Monday and Virginia and
Maryland coming up this weekend.”
