Volleyball Cruises Past Florida Atlantic

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Lady Seminole volleyball team tied its best start
in school history with its eighth win, a 15-3, 15-3, 15-7 sweep of Florida
Atlantic in front of 525 fans at Tully Gymnasium.

Florida State (8-0) dominated Florida Atlantic (2-5) from the onset.
Outside hitter LaToya Presberry tallied 7 kills over the match’s first two
games. The entire Florida Atlantic team had just six. Overall, the Lady
Seminoles hit .395 on 44 kills while the Owls managed just a .013 hitting
percentage on 16 kills.

Individually for Florida State, Presberry, Susan Hawks, and Aisha
Thornton each hit over .500 for the match with Presberry and Thornton
leading the team with 11 kills each. Setter Fiona Bolton set up the
offense with 31 assists and added 13 digs on defense.

Florida State will go for win number nine when it meets Georgia State
Saturday afternoon at 12:30 in Tully Gym.
