Florida State Volleyball Wins First Two Games in Tournament

BOCA RATON, FL — Florida State’s volleyball team defeated Florida
International and Florida Atlantic in three games each in their first two
matches of the Florida Atlantic Tournament. The two wins helped improve
the Lady Seminole’s record best start in program history to 11-0.

Florida State defeated Florida International 15-9, 15-5, and 15-4, in an
early afternoon match. Susan Hawks led the team with 9 kills, followed by
Susan Johnson and Latoya Presberry, both with 8 kills each.

In the night match, Florida State defeated Florida Atlantic, for the
second time this season, 15-3, 15-7, and 15-6. Fiona Bolten tallied 44
assists, while also showing a strong defensive effort with 10 digs. Latoya
Presberry and Aisha Thornton both contributed double-digit kills for the
game with 13 and 11, respectively.

The Lady Seminole’s next game in the tournament is tomorrow at 12:30
versus Mercer.
