Volleyball Falls to North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The Florida State Lady Seminole volleyball team fell
to North Carolina in three games in the Atlantic Coast Conference opener
for both schools. UNC topped FSU by scores of 15-13, 15-6 and 15-6 to
improve to 7-5 and 1-0 while the Tribe fell to 12-2 and 0-1 in the ACC with
its second straight three-set loss.

Despite a double-double performance of 15 kills and 13 digs by junior
outside hitter LaToya Presberry, the Lady Seminoles hit a season-low .179
in the match. Sophomore Aisha Thornton registered 14 kills, 2 errors on 23
attempts to lead the Tribe with a .522 hitting performance. The Lady
Seminoles, who had been dominating all season in the blocking department,
were outblocked 18-14 for the match. Junior setter Fiona Bolten also
recorded a double-double with 36 assists and 10 digs on the night.

North Carolina was led by Tori Seibert’s match-leading 18 kills. She had
just one error on 30 attempts for a .567 night. UNC hit .343 for the

Florida State continues action at North Carolina State tomorrow night at
6:30 p.m.
