Florida State Sweeps Weekly Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Florida State outside hitter LaToya Presberry garnered ACC
Player of the Week honors this while fellow Seminole Kate Hemlepp captured the Rookie
of the Week award for the second week of competition.

Presberry led Florida State to a 3-0 record for the week as the Seminoles won the
Michigan Tournament. She finished her team’s three games with a .355 hitting
percentage and 4.2 kills per game. Presberry also registered 4.1 digs a game and
recorded six service aces in the 10 games she participated in. Her efforts also
earned the junior the MVP award at the Michigan Tournament. Freshman, Kate Hemlepp,who made her first appearance as a starter over the
weekend, was named to the all-tournament team. Also named to the all-tournament squad were LaToya Presberry and Fiona Bolton. Presberry was
also named the tournament’s most valuable player.

Hemlepp, another Seminole outside hitter, also enjoyed an excellent hitting weekend.
The freshman registered a .412 hitting percentage and 2.8 kills per game over 9 games.
She also registered five assists, six digs, and four blocks for the week. Hemlepp’s
best game came against Montana as she finished with .533 hitting percentage and 9
kills. Freshman, Kate Hemlepp,who made her first appearance as a starter over the
weekend, was named to the all-tournament team. Also named to the all-tournament squad were LaToya Presberry and Fiona Bolton. Presberry was
also named the tournament’s most valuable player.
