Laure Castelain has been one of the Seminoles’ most active golfers this summer – with a fifth place finish at the St. Rule Trophy Tournament at historic St. Andrews to her credit — and a number of exciting tournaments still on her schedule. She has found time for fun and time with her family and visited with seminoles.com before heading out to practice for her next event.
What events are you planning on playing in this summer?
I have already played in the St. Rule Trophy at historic St. Andrews where finished in fifth place and in the British Ladies Championship in Wales where in finished in a tie for 68th place. I am planning on playing 3 other tournaments: the Grand Prix of Chiberta and the Biarritz Cup during the 2 first weeks of July and finally the European Ladies Championship in Finland on July 24-27th.
What is the one part of your game that you are going to focus on becoming better at this summer?
I really want to make more putts so that is definitely my main point of focus for the summer.
Which club in your bag do you have to work on the most this summer?
What are your early goals for the 2013-14 season as a Seminole?
I really want to have a strong start in the fall season so my early goals are to win a tournament as an individual along with the team.
Do you have any plans for a relaxing vacation with family or friends?
I will have a time during the beginning of August to relax for sure but I do not know exactly where yet. Maybe in Corsica to go see my sister!
What has been your most memorable summer vacation?
Because I have a big family, it is not very often that we are all together reunited. So a week with my family where everyone was free to enjoy their time, share funny stories and good food was definitely one of my most memorable vacations.
What is the craziest thing you are thinking about this summer?
I would love to go camping and hiking somewhere far from the city!
What is your favorite rainy day summertime board game to play with family or friends?
The Belote is a good game! (32 card game with four players).
What is your most and least favorite thing about summer?
I love summer time for the beach, eating outside and having tons of fresh fruits and veggies! It is also a perfect time for me to go home and see some old friends. The least favorite thing would be the mosquitos!
What is your favorite summer food?,br> Definitely fruits and vegetables to create some tasty salads!

Are you taking summer classes? If so want classes?
I am taking two summer classes online: A classics class and a hospitality class.
Given the choice, which do you prefer: ocean, lake or pool?
I would go for the ocean! I love the beach and the waves!
What is your favorite summer-themed movie?
I love comedies. It is always a good time to laugh and relax.
Lemonade, water, iced-tea or sweet-tea on a hot summer day?
Sparkling water with lemon!
What is your favorite summer ice cream flavor? With sprinkles or without? In a cone or a cup?
I love vanilla ice cream with pecan nuts (or with brownies sprinkles) in a cone.
Do you believe that mermaids exist?
No I don’t.
Would you rather ride a rollercoaster or go on a waterslide?
I would rather go on a waterslide.
Would you rather learn to sail or surf?
I would rather learn to surf! I tried once and I loved it.
What is the best summertime holiday: Memorial Day, July 4th or Labor Day?
French National Day on July 14th.
