TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State women’s basketball head coach Sue Semrau announced Wednesday that senior guard Angela Sutton has decided to leave the team for personal reasons.

“I admire Angela’s courage for returning to college and earning her degree,” Semrau said. “We wish her the best in all of her future endeavors.”

Sutton, a Cleveland, Tenn., native, played in 18 games this season and was averaging 2.7 points and 1.2 rebounds in 11.1 minutes per game. She is on target to graduate this spring with a degree in sociology.

“I have enjoyed my experience at Florida State and I am very grateful for the opportunity that was given to me by Coach Sue,” Sutton said. “The coaches and I came to a mutual agreement that this would be best for me personally and for the team. I will really miss being a part of the program and playing with the team. I wish them the best the rest of the season and will be their biggest fan.”
