CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The North Carolina volleyball team continued their winning performance in the ACC by taking (15-6, 15-5, 15-13) Florida State in Carmichael Auditorium Friday.
The Tar Heels opened the match on an 8-0 run and the Seminoles were not able to recover. Both teams hit a high percentage with UNC out-hitting FSU .536 to .440 in the game.
In game two, Carolina scored the first three points, only to see Florida State answer with five consecutive of its own. However, those were the only points Florida State would score in the game as UNC completed the game on a 12-0 run.
In game three, the Tar Heels took leads of 7-2 and 12-5 and appeared to have the match well in hand, before Florida State came charging back on a 7-0 run to tie the game. However, the Seminoles could never take the lead and Carolina finished the match at 15-13.
Norisha Campbell led Florida State with 13 kills and setter Jamie Hibbard contributed 28 assists and 8 digs. Dawn Hough had a big night at the net with five blocks.
