Taylor Places 15th In High Jump To Conclude NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. –
The Florida State indoor track and field team concluded competition at the 2002 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday evening at Arkansas University. The women’s squad finished 42nd behind the three points earned by freshman pole vaulter Lacy Janson who finished sixth on Friday night. The men’s team placed 50th with 3.5 points earned by their only competitor’s, senior Shawn Brown, fifth-place finish in the high jump Friday evening.


Senior Stacey Taylor (Pittsburgh, Penn.) was the lone FSU athlete to compete in Saturday’s action. Taylor finished 15th overall in the women’s high jump with a height of 5-07.25 (1.76-meters).


The Tribe ended the meet with two athletes earning All-America honors. Janson took the honors for the women in the pole vault and Brown received the honors for the men in the high jump.


The NCAA meet marked the conclusion of the indoor season. The Seminoles will now concentrate on the outdoor season, as they will host the Snowbird Invitational at Mike Long Track on the campus of FSU on March 15-16.
