TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State women’s tennis team added the second signature of the 2017 class as Lucie Prochazkova of Prague, Czech Republic signed her National Letter of Intent on Monday. “We are so excited that Lucie has committed to join our program next fall,” head coach Jennifer Hyde said. “During her junior career, Lucie has been ranked amongst the top players in her country, and what is even more exciting is knowing that her best tennis is ahead of her.
“Her work ethic and attitude will be contagious, and we are thrilled for her arrival next August.”
Lucie has been ranked as high as 6 in the Czech Republic juniors (under 18) rankings and is currently ranked no. 60 in the Czech Republic women’s rankings. She reached the semifinals of the Czech Nationals in 2014 and 2015, and the doubles finals of the Czech Nationals in 2015 and 2016. In 2014, Prochazkova won the Czech Junior Tournament Category A.
She has won three doubles titles in ITF tournaments in Prague and Budapest, Hungary, and holds a career-high ITF juniors singles ranking of 323.
“I was looking for a home away from home and I found that when I came to FSU on my visit,” Prochazkova said. “Everything was absolutely perfect and when I met the girls I was a hundred percent sure that I wanted to be a part of this team and the whole Seminole family.”
