TALAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State University men’s and women’s tennis teams are in southern Florida this weekend. The men’s team plays at Florida International on Friday and at Miami on Sunday. The men are led by Ty Braswell, 3-2, and recently ranked #96 in college tennis by the ITA. Braswell teams with Davidson Kozlowski to form the Seminoles No.1 doubles team. They are 4-1 on the season. The men’s team will return to action back at FSU on Friday, February 26th. They will face Southern Mississippi on Friday at 3:30pm and Furman on Sunday at 2:00pm.
The women’s team takes there 6-1 record to face South Florida this weekend. The Lady Seminoles take the courts on Saturday at 11:00am. The Noles are led by Nanette Duxin, 5-1, Alida Gallovits, 4-3, and Jessica Balbuena, 6-1. In the latest ITA polls, Duxin was ranked within the Top 50 in the country. Gallovits and Balbuena are freshmen who are making an immediate impact for the Lady Noles. Also making an impact for the Lady Seminoles, is the doubles team of Ali Weber and Kia Asberg, who were ranked 37th in the country in the ITA’s latest poll. The Lady Seminoles return to Tallahassee for a match with South Alabama on Tuesday at 2:00pm.
