Terry Horner Finishes First in 1-Meter Springboard Semi-finals

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State’s star diver Terry Horner wasted no time reminding the crowd at Morcom Aquatic Center the 1-meter springboard is his event. The defending national champion finished the semi-final round in the lead with 393.60 points.

Horner’s best dive came in the second round of the semi-finals. His forward three and a half somersault tuck earned the highest score of the competition, 76.5. Through all six rounds Horner averaged a score of 65.60 each round. His nearest competitor is two-time Olympian Troy Dumais, who trails Horner by 20.75 points.

Horner joins the rest of the top eight semi-final finishers in the finals tonight at Morcom Aquatic Center at 6 P.M. Tickets are $7 per day for adults and $5 per day for children 3-16 and seniors 55+. Children under 3 are free.
