TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
Florida State University’s track and field head coach Terry Long was honored on Friday with the Mondo/United States Track Coaches Association South Region Men’s Coach of the Year award. Long was selected in a vote by fellow college track and field coaches.

Coach Long is in his 23rd season as head coach of the Seminole track and field teams. The men’s team won its first ACC outdoor title in 2002, which led to him earning his third ACC Coach of the Year honor (1995 and 2000). Long and the other eight regional winners are now eligible for selection for the Monod/USTCA National Coach of the Year, which will be voted on at the conclusion of next week’s NCAA Championships at LSU in Baton Rouge, La.
