Nov. 28, 2006
On November 16th Florida State’s men’s and women’s track and fields teams attended a very special banquet honoring the national champions from 2006. The highlight of the evening was when the men’s team were awarded their ACC Indoor and Outdoor and NCAA Outdoor National Championship rings. Also receiving some special gifts that night was individual women’s National Champion Lacy Janson.
A few special guests on hand that evening included former coaches Terry Long and Dick Roberts, two men who helped develop the Seminoles’ track and field program into what it is today.
Each member of the National Championship men’s team was given a framed track uniform displayed above the famous picture of the team doing the ‘Chop’ on the NCAA logo following the meet last season. The track team’s support staff also received a plaque as a thank you for their dedication and hard work.
