The Florida State men’s track and field team were guests of honor in Tully Gym on August 30, 2006 for the annual fall pep rally.

Each year the Seminole Boosters host “Seminole Uprising,” a pep rally for all students and athletes. This year’s event featured performances by the FSU Marching Chiefs and the FSU Cheerleaders and included a sing-along to the Florida State Alma Mater “High Over Towering Pines.” Guest speakers included head football coach Bobby Bowden with his wife Ann as well as Athletics Director Dave Hart.

The highlight of the evening came when Tallahassee Mayor John Marks was on hand to help honor the men’s track and field team for becoming the first in Florida State history to bring home a National title in the sport of track and field. Athletes from both the men’s and women’s teams were there to celebrate their exhilarating 2006 season and to get excited for 2007.
