TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State women’s tennis team is set to play host to the Auburn Tigers Friday, February 15th at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center. The Seminoles have taken 12 of the 13 meetings with the Tigers. The last meeting between the two teams was in 2000, which the Seminoles won, 6-3. The Seminoles enter the contest ranked 27th with a record of 5-1. The Tigers are 3-0 and are unranked.
“Historically, this has been a great rivalry,” head coach Lise Gregory said. “We always have a tough match against Auburn. They are a very solid team. We need to come out and play hard, or we could possibly see an upset.”
Following the match-up with the Tigers, the Seminoles will head on the road for the first time this season. On Wednesday, February 20th, the Seminoles head to Gainesville to take on the No. 5 Lady Gators at Linder Stadium. The Gators enter the match with a 1-0 record. After the match-up, the Seminoles will travel to Alabama to face South Alabama and the University of Alabama on February 23rd and 24th.
