TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Sophomore Craphonso Thorpe was named the ACC Co-Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Performer of the Week for his outstanding performance at the Yellow Jacket Invitational this past weekend. This is the fourth performer of the week honor garnered by the Seminoles this season and the first for Thorpe.

Thorpe achieved two NCAA regional qualifying marks in Atlanta, Ga. over the weekend in both the 100m and 200m dash events. He won the 200m posting a team leading time of 21.03. In the 100m dash, Thorpe was the top collegiate finisher placing second in a time of 10.44. The Tallahassee native currently holds the top spot in both events in the ACC this season.

Thorpe shares this week’s award with Clemson’s Terrance McDaniel, who went on to post two regional qualifying marks as well.

Florida State leads the conference with four performers of the week in 2003. Thorpe now joins teammates Joep Tigchelaar, Vicky Gill and Laura Gerber as recipients of this award.

The Garnet and Gold will return to action this weekend for their fourth home meet of the season. The Seminoles will host the FSU Home Meet at Mike Long Track on Saturday April 12.
