Three More Football Players Undergo Surgery

Jan. 17, 2003

A trio of Seminole football players (quarterback Fabian Walker, rover Jerome Carter and cornerback Stanford Samuels) underwent shoulder surgeries today in Tallahassee. All three surgeries were successful according to FSU head trainer Randy Oravetz.

Quarterback Fabian Walker had his right shoulder scoped by Dr. Tom Haney, Dr. Steve Jordan and Dr. Doug Henderson. Walker had some debris removed during the surgery.

Rover Jerome Carter also had his right shoulder scoped by Dr. Haney. Like Walker, he had some debris from his shoulder cleaned up.

Cornerback Stanford Samuels had left shoulder worked on by Dr. Henderson. The surgery was done to take care of a dislocation problem.

“All the doctors felt very good about each of the surgeries,” said head trainer Randy Oravetz. “All three of the shoulder surgeries were successful. They should all be ready for spring practice with the only question being how much Fabian is able to throw. We may have to limit him some depending on how he progresses.”
