GREENSBORO, N.C. – Florida State senior setter Fiona Bolten and junior middle hitter Aisha Thorton were selected to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference volleyball first team while senior Holly Schneider garnered second-team honors, the league released today.
Bolten, who was named an ACC second team choice last year, set a new FSU single-season record for assists with 1,528 and leads the ACC in assists per game at 13.89. She garnered ACC Player of the Week honors one time this season and has recorded 16 double-doubles.
Thornton not only leads the team in hitting at .359, but she leads the ACC as well. She has twice been named the ACC Co-Player of the Week and is hitting an amazing .413 in league play. She was an ACC All-Freshman Team member in 1996.
Schneider, who didn’t miss a match during her entire career, has recorded a team-high 19 double-doubles this season and now ranks second in digs, third in kill attempts and fourth in kills in FSU’s all time records. She leads the team this year in service aces (40) and digs (365).
Schneider earned second-team All-ACC recognition last year.
Florida State will play Wake Forest on Friday, November 20th at 2 p.m. in the ACC Championships, being held at the University of Maryland.
