The Florida State Seminoles (7-4, 5-3 ACC) worked out for 15 periods in shorts and helmets on Thursday afternoon as they continued to prepare for Saturday’s ACC Championship game against Virginia Tech (10-1, 7-1 ACC). The Seminoles worked on special teams before breaking up into offense and defense and working on the final game script. After practice the team met for dinner before heading out to Jacksonville. They will have a walk through on Friday to conclude their final work before the inaugural ACC championship game. Saturday’s game will be televised nationally on ABC at 8:00 p.m. Calling the game for ABC will be Brent Musberger, Gary Danielson and sideline reporter Jack Arute.

(on the team’s attitude)

“I know this: Their attitude has been good. They’ve worked hard. That’s one thing about this team. They have not backed down on their work. They’ve kept a pretty good spirit about them.”

(on the ACC title game)

“The thing about it is you go into a game like this – and I just got through telling them this a while ago – whether you are 11-0 or 7-4, whoever wins this game is the champion. That’s an oddity, but that’s the way it is. We’ve got to go out and play the best we can play.”

(On injuries)

“We’re very much the same [injury-wise]. Some of them might be a little bit better; some of them might be a little bit worse.”

(On being underdog)

“We used to go through that all the time when I started here. Lately, that hasn’t happened. But people have to remember – that’s not everlasting. People think we’ve had it. But, no, that’s not true. This hasn’t been our year. It can turn at any time. You never know when it will happen.”
