TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Few things signal the start of a new football season like The Florida State University Alumni Association's annual Football Kickoff Luncheon. The 59th annual luncheon is set for Friday, Aug. 20 at the Donald L. Tucker Center, with doors opening at 11:30 a.m. and the program beginning at 12 noon.
First-year Florida State football coach Jimbo Fisher will address the crowd and the 2010 Seminole football team will be introduced. University President Dr. Eric J. Barron and director of athletics Randy Spetman will be joined on the dais by the "Voice of the Seminoles" Gene Deckerhoff, who will serve as master of ceremonies.
Legendary professor Tommie Wright will open the program with his most famous composition, the FSU Fight Song, which he wrote 59 years ago at the beginning of his career in the university's College of Music.
