TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State women’s tennis team added the first signature to the 2017 class as Carla Touly of Montbrison, France signed her National Letter of Intent on Wednesday. “We could not be more excited for Carla to join our Seminole Family in January,” head coach Jennifer Hyde said. “As soon as she stepped foot on campus here at Florida State, we all knew that the fit was absolutely perfect.”
“She also brings a wealth of international playing experience with her to Tallahassee, and we expect Carla to have an immediate impact on her team. We can’t wait for Carla to get here in a few weeks.”
Touly has won five professional doubles titles, and has recently been a finalist in three singles events. She has been ranked as high as 584 in the WTA singles rankings and 471 in doubles.
“After 48 hours visiting FSU, something magical happened,” Touly said. “The place is wonderful, the team and the people I had a chance to meet were amazing. I felt as if I had known them forever. It was and is so special. I’m so proud and happy to be a part of the Seminole Family.”
