SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Florida State Women’s Soccer team got a taste of the southwest corner of California on Wednesday as they enjoyed their first full day in San Diego in preparation for their semifinal match against Penn State on Friday at the 2012 College Cup.
After a morning practice, the Seminoles were treated to a tour of the USS Princeton at the San Diego Naval Base. The USS Princeton is a 13th Ticonderoga class guided missile cruiser and the 11th ship of that class built by Ingalls. The USS Princeton is the sixth ship in the Navy to bear this name.
Following the tour of the cruiser, Florida State headed over to the campus of the University of San Diego to get a look at Torero Stadium – site of this year’s College Cup.
The 2012 College Cup will get underway on Friday, November 30 when Florida State faces Penn State in the first semifinal at 8:30 p.m. ET (5:30 p.m. PT). The game will air live on ESPN3 and WatchESPN Exclusive.
