Tallahassee, Fla. -- Baseball fans can sign up at the Budweiser Good Sport designated driver program booth beginning at 5:00pm on April 1, prior to the start of the FSU baseball game against Florida Gulf Coast University at Dick Howser Stadium. Fans who pledge to be designated drivers before FSU sporting events will receive a complimentary Budweiser promotional product and a chance to be selected as the "Designated Driver of the Game." Designated Drivers of the Game are recognized on the stadium video board, and will receive a Budweiser Tailgate Prize Pack.
"Part of our ongoing commitment to the community is to promote responsible behavior when it comes to drinking before sporting events," said Mike LePorin, Vice-President of Sales & Marketing for Tri-Eagle Sales. "Good Sport is a program that ensures fans attending not only the game at Dick Howser Stadium but any FSU complex will have a good time and be good sports, while being reminded of the importance of Designated Drivers." LePorin will also be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at Tuesday's game.
Major League Baseball Opening Day was Monday March 31st. Last month the Budweiser brand, the Official Beer Sponsor of Major League Baseball, hit the campaign trail with Hall of Fame shortstop Ozzie Smith to gather the minimum 100,000 signatures needed to declare Opening Day a national holiday, which they attained. Budweiser and Ozzie await official next steps, and are excited to celebrate and are appreciative of all the support the campaign has received across the country.
